Text

We certify that we have carefully examined this applicant who states that he is suffering from the following disability, incurred in the service: GSW left side and resulting disability of heart, and that he receives a pension of $12/month.

Pulse rate/minute: 118
Respiration: 40
Temperature: 100-1/5
Height: 5'7 1/2"
Weight: 105 pounds
Age: 45 years

Dailinger states that as a result of the GSW through left side of chest, he has suffered spells of heart and left side chest paints together with difficult breathing and faintness at times as excited by any fatigue. Has had cough for 5 or 6 years and one year ago he had a severe attack of pneumonia which he has never been fully recovered from and so effectually debilitated and weakened him that he is barely able to be up and about the rooms of his house.

Upon examinations, we find that he is severely anemic, debilitated and emaciated. He has a severe and forcible cough as well as appreciable dysponea. The entire right lung is partially consolidated and is evidently breaking down. The issue with right lung is not result of GSW. Although, we do find a few coarse rates in the bronchi of lower left lung.

From the existing condition and history of claimant, it is probable that the disability was incurred in the service. He is entitled to a 16/18 rating for the disability caused by GSW to left side and results.
